The role is within Chubb Europe's ERM team and will promote the embedding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) across Chubb Europe by enhancing risk management activities towards the achievement of Chubb's regional corporate objectives. The Senior Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in the identification, assessment, and management of risks across the organization including providing assurance in terms of the adequacy of existing risk mitigation strategies. This position requires a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills, capable of leading and supporting Enterprise Risk Management initiatives within the Function. The Senior Risk Analyst will report into the Head of Enterprise Risk Management and will lead or support risk analysis including stress and scenario analysis, emerging risk analysis, conduct specific risk assessment, support production of Solvency Capital Requirements (SCR) and Own Risk and Solvency Assessments (ORSA).
ROLE PURPOSE
The role holder will collaborate with various departments and be involved in a range of tasks including, but not limited to, performing deep-dive/spotlight reviews on key risk themes, drafting relevant reports as well as providing inputs to various Committees to facilitate risk-based decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the embedment of the Risk Management Framework (and the underlying risk policies) and the Risk Function's engagement with the first line and advise on risk and controls self-assessments performed by the first line.
- Support or lead the related risk analysis in respect of insurance/underwriting exposures, reserving and financial (credit & market) risks as may be required.
- Lead the emerging risk process, including the identification, assessment, and ranking of emerging risks across the organization; facilitate the EMEA Emerging Risk Working Group discussions and drive initiatives to address pressing risk items.
- Conduct in-depth research on relevant emerging risks using internal and external data and information, assess the implications for Chubb and prepare reports to inform decision making.
- Support the optimisation of the existing ERM processes, including the identification and assessment of various key indicators of changes in the risk environment.
- Enhance existing risk reporting toolkits and continue the development of an integrated risk reporting including exposure/accumulations monitoring reports.
- Support the company's stress and scenario framework analysis, review, and documentation of stress and scenario analysis and demonstrating linkage to the emerging risk process.
- Collaborate with various departments, to gather insights and data for risk assessments and reports. Prepare and present findings to senior management and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex risk concepts.
- Support the preparation of quarterly reports for the Management, Audit and Risk Committees and the Board as may be required.
- Support the completion of ORSA reports, aiding in Solvency Capital Requirements calculation and scenario analyses for a subset of entities.
- Support the performance analysis of risk coverage within Internal Model for all legal entities and support Internal Model validation activities as may be required.
- Support responses to regulatory requests, where required, liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with PRA, Lloyd's, and ACPR guidelines.
- Supervise relevant risk management activities performed by Chubb Business Services India and assist with other risk management projects as they arise.
Qualifications
- University degree in a numerate discipline or a related subject.
- Nearly / part-qualified Actuary / CERA qualification is an advantage.
Experience
- Knowledge of Risk processes.
- An understanding of both non-life and life insurance products and services.
- Proven experience in risk analysis, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong analytical skills, and good working knowledge of MS Office applications and data analysis tools.
- Ability to understand risks, issues and impacts and manage these across a diverse series of products and locations concurrently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated capabilities and experience in managing cross-functional projects.
- Comprehensible evidence of managing own performance and ability to develop skills, competences and behaviours that support outstanding performance and meet professional/regulatory expectations.
- Complies with fit and proper requirements.
