Job Description
Reporting to the QEHS Director, the QEHS Manager will support the organization in implementing all elements of the QEHS Management System and achieving compliance and best practices for all QEHS matters, including planning, development, and continuous improvement programs.
The QEHS Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders, playing a key role in deploying QEHS strategies and improvement plans, and supporting business operations in safe working practices.
Acting as a key business partner to Senior Leaders, the QEHS Manager will engage in team meetings, report on progress, trends, improvement opportunities, and escalate concerns and non-compliance issues.
You will:
- Act as deputy to the QEHS Director in their absence.
- Serve as Business Partner to the Value Stream Managing Director and team on QEHS matters, providing advice, guidance, and support. Attend meetings to build relationships and promote QEHS.
- Develop an annual Value Stream QEHS Improvement plan, update and present progress reports quarterly, and support year-end QEHS Management Reviews.
- Identify opportunities to improve QEHS that could reduce accidents, environmental incidents, or quality issues across operations.
- Support key accounts during tender stages on QEHS matters, attending client sites and meetings as needed to promote Chubb’s QEHS strategies.
- Maintain certifications and memberships.
- Support external audits to meet ISO standards, address non-compliances, and present findings to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Conduct internal QEHS audits per schedule.
- Assist business operations in implementing QEHS policies, work instructions, and safe practices.
- Conduct regular site visits and field engagements to identify improvement opportunities and promote best practices.
- Support client-required QEHS visits and provide reports.
- Ensure all Chubb facilities comply with QEHS requirements and address areas for improvement promptly.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent; GradIOSH membership (working towards CMIOSH).
- Multi-site experience and/or 5-10 years post-qualification experience.
- IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental qualification or experience.
- IEMA and CQi memberships are desirable.
- Experience in safety in construction environments and subcontracted labor.
- Experience with mobile, field-based workforce is desirable.
- Experience in accident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with QEHS Management systems certified to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Knowledge of operations in the Fire & Security sector, including sector schemes like BAFE, NSI.
- Understanding of UK/EU standards and legislation for Fire & Security.
- Current knowledge of UK QEHS practices and legislation.
- Familiarity with quality improvement and lean methodologies.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
