Are you a qualified Actuary with 10+ years of long tail lines pricing experience in Specialty/ London Market? Chubb is a global insurer operating in 54 countries. This highly visible Actuarial Pricing Manager role is responsible for the $1bn+ Financial Lines and Cyber portfolios written across the European region, including London Market. The role leads a team of pricing actuaries and analysts who work closely with underwriting teams across the Region to support profitable growth and disciplined portfolio performance. The role is based in London, with some occasional travel to other parts of Chubb’s European network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance Management and Monitoring: Lead a team of actuaries/analysts to partner with underwriters in assessing portfolio performance and formulating strategies to improve/optimise underwriting performance. Lead the effort in monitoring and communicating key portfolio trends/statistics/insights to underwriters and senior management, including but not limited to quarterly business performance reviews, performance dashboard updates, renewal rate change and adequacy monitoring, inflation impact etc.
- Exposure Rating Models: Develop and regularly calibrate exposure rating models in conjunction with underwriting teams and wider (Chubb Overseas General) actuarial group. Through the application of technical models, enable optimum risk selection and benchmark rating monitoring.
- Case Pricing: Develop and maintain experience rating models. Support underwriting decisions and referrals with pricing of individual large accounts/facilities/binders etc.
- Planning/Forecasting: Partner with Underwriting Heads, Finance and Planning Teams in formulating yearly and longer term strategic plans and forecasts.
- Underwriting Risk: Lead the parameterisation of underwriting risk distributions for Financial Lines and Cyber, for the purpose of the Chubb Global Capital Model.
- Reinsurance: Where appropriate, support reinsurance submissions and decisions.
- Wider Actuarial Projects: Proactively engaged with the wider Actuarial and Analytics communities in knowledge sharing/common projects/efficiency and automation.
- Management: The role will involve management responsibility for 3 onshore actuaries/analysts and indirect workflow management of a shared pool of interns and offshore analysts.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience:
- Highly motivated self-starter who is able to drive, prioritise, manage and execute multiple projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Great team leader and player who is able to deal with different professional backgrounds and interested to invest time in team growth.
- Strong stakeholder management ability.
- Proven technical expertise in specialty lines case pricing, rating tools development and portfolio management activities.
- Loss modelling and statistical analysis skills.
- Commercial insurance/London Market knowledge.
- Strong communicator who can articulate complex messages to a broad range of audiences in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written.
- Proficiency in English required.
- Strong systems/software/data management skills, and/or ability to learn new software on own initiative. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and at least two of the following software/engine: R, Dataiku, SQL, Python, ResQ, Radar, Qlik, PowerQuery, Databricks.
- Familiarity with utilising AI in a work setting.
- Professional actuarial qualification (e.g. Fellow of IFoA/CAS).
