Position Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Drama to join our fantastic team at CHS South. This is a fixed term post of 1 year, starting September 2026. The post holder is required to fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, as outlined in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, and will meet the Professional Standards for Teachers appropriate to their career stage. The key purpose of the role is to secure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement in drama, ensuring that all students make strong progress and are supported to reach their full potential. The post holder is accountable to the Curriculum Leader, Senior Leaders, and ultimately the Headteacher.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the academic progress, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all students
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons across drama
  • Contribute to the development of an ambitious drama curriculum
  • Assess, monitor and report on progress, implementing timely interventions
  • Work collaboratively within the drama team to support the school’s vision
  • Reflect on and improve practice through professional development and shared expertise
  • Support curriculum development, examinations and school improvement priorities
  • Participate in meetings, duties and enrichment activities as required
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and external partners
