About the role
Forming part of our Maintenance team, based in Liverpool, UK, with some travel to our Scotland site.
Our maintenance team is responsible for ensuring our equipment is on and running to support our client’s needs.
They are a team of technically experienced individuals, with backgrounds in various engineering specialisations.
The team are a cohesive global unit that work on rosters, with time onsite, time working from our office or home, and time off to recover and rest (wellbeing is important to us).
The team is regularly working with our project managers, physicists, and is responsible for being our face to the customer.
What you will do
- Maintenance of Photon Assay™ in Liverpool and Cononish, Scotland that includes mechanical, electrical and software aspects.
- Scheduled monthly maintenance as well as responding to breakdowns on short notice to minimise downtime and maximise availability.
- Generating detailed reports about the maintenance and repairs completed
- Technical support service for the installations via telephone, email and remote computer login for troubleshooting and performance checks during and out of office hours as agreed.
This will involve liaising with support staff at Chrysos’ headquarters and our technology partner in China.
- Training of the customer on the safe operation and basic troubleshooting of the equipment.
- Monitoring system performance and providing engineering solutions to improve design and operational problems on the Photon Assay™ units.
- Testing equipment for performance and compliance with safety regulations
- Supervising contractors and managing upgrades or repairs making sure all engineering specifications and protocols are followed.
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of the processes associated with the maintenance of Photon Assay™ systems.
- Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new installations.
- Spares inventory management and record keeping on site.
- Supporting the development of a strong safety and inclusive culture. Complying with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.
- Have an eye and voice for safety and contribute to ensuring a safe work environment for all.
Who you are
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in engineering (electrical, electronic or mechatronic) or a closely related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical equipment.
- Safety first focus.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- Able and willing to travel and work within UK & Europe including at remote locations such as mine sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Rights to work in the UK
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Familiarity with office productivity software such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Flexibility to support lab site at our normal hours
Desirable
- Demonstrated team leadership experience (potential for career progression as the team continues to grow)
- Familiarity with the mining industry and mine-site operations.
- Customer Service and Field Service experience in the mining or mineral sector (or related) processing industries.
- Demonstrated experience in fault finding in electro-mechanical equipment.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical wiring and safety, power distribution, mechanical maintenance and repairs; basic electronics; metal-working; engineering drawing and design.
