Ready to lead the brains behind the build? Our client, a major player in affordable housing, mixed-tenure and regeneration projects, is on the hunt for a Head of Technical / Technical Director to take the reins of their technical and design function. This is a senior, permanent leadership role where you’ll shape strategy, inspire teams, and help deliver communities that genuinely make a difference.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving technical strategy from early design and estimating through to site delivery
  • Leading, mentoring and motivating a high-performing technical team
  • Overseeing the full technical lifecycle of complex housing projects
  • Ensuring smart, compliant and cost-effective design solutions

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong background in multi-tenure housing or contracting environments
  • Deep knowledge of design management, construction methods, planning and procurement
  • A natural leader who enjoys both strategy and hands-on problem solving
  • Someone ready to operate at senior regional level

You will bring experience in multi-tenure or contracting environments along with a strong command of design, construction methods, planning processes, procurement and relevant legislation. A detailed understanding of health and safety responsibilities is essential, as is a commitment to upholding equality and diversity within the workplace. You should be confident working with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.

Above all, you will have the leadership presence needed to inspire your team and the technical expertise required to deliver high-quality, cost-effective design solutions.
