Chronos Energy are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager for a client in the District Heating sector. The chosen applicant will be working as an integral member of the District Heating delivery team, reporting to the Head of Delivery. You will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and successful delivery of a portfolio of district energy projects. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to required quality standards, while driving excellent customer service and seamless transition to Operations & Maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, suppliers, contractors, and Project Managers.
  • Hold line management responsibility for Project Managers, ensuring performance, delivery, and development.
  • Coach and support Project Managers across the portfolio, driving best practice and consistency.
  • Oversee delivery of District heating projects, ensuring milestones and programme targets are met.
  • Projects are delivered to agreed cost, quality, and performance standards.
  • Provide leadership on complex, high-risk, or underperforming projects.
  • Ensure effective project close-out, including lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a strong health and safety culture across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and knowledge of Heat network Regulations.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and safety performance.
  • Ensure adherence to company governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Own commercial performance across the portfolio, including budget management and CVR forecasting.
  • Lead contract development, negotiation, and administration.
  • Oversee change management and compensation events.
  • Manage risks, issues, opportunities, and financial exposure.
  • Responsible for the design and build of energy centres, distribution pipe networks, and HIU installations and connections.
  • Ensure quality across installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Support innovation, constructability, and value engineering.

Qualifications

  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Energy, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • APM project management qualification (or equivalent).

Required Skills

  • Strong experience delivering District energy / heat network projects, including low-carbon heat technologies.
  • Proven experience across full project lifecycle management and commercial and financial management (including budgeting and forecasting).
  • Working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety legislation and CDM Regulations, heat network regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
  • Contract management principles and practices.
