Senior Acoustic Engineer

Contract type: Full Time

Locations: Manchester

We are seeking a Senior Acoustic Engineer to lead our Acoustic design team in Manchester
It goes without saying really but the person we hire will be motivated, confident and great with people. They will have the freedom to build their own client base, pursue the sectors that interest them, and recruit as the team grows.

This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious individual to step up and lead an Acoustics business in Manchester, with the backing of some great people and a very capable and successful, independently owned company.

Working within a growing successful multi-disciplinary consultancy and operating across a matrix of projects, responsibilities may include:

Environmental noise surveys and assessments
Design reports across the RIBA design stages
Assessment of projects against British and International Standards
Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team and contractors
Attendance at client, design and site meetings, site inspections and reporting
Development of in-house software spreadsheets and design tools
Building acoustic models using CATT, Cadna, Odeon, SoundPlan, IMMI etc.

Core job requirements:

Great people skills
A degree or post graduate diploma in Acoustics (or related discipline)
Experience working in the acoustics industry
A strong technical background
Acoustic software experience
Excellent written and verbal communication
Motivation and ambition.
Ideally, the candidate will also have:
MEng in Acoustics OR a first degree in a related discipline
Membership of the IOA
Qualitative and quantitative experience in building services, architectural and environmental acoustics
BIM, Revit, CAD experience
Software programming experience.
