Our client is a global leader in public safety technology building omnichannel emergency service communications solutions. Following its growth across the Americas, the company is about to launch in the UK.
The Technology & Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing activities that combine technical and sales & business operations capabilities. This individual will assist the UK VP in maintaining relationships with customers, managing business operations, and working with technical, product, and engineering teams to understand the product at a technical level and develop new products. The individual should be comfortable working in a technical environment and will be required to explain the product and integration requirements to UK clients, following training from the global team.
Position Requirements:- At least 4 years of experience in a similar role, working with complex SaaS products (preferably in a fast-paced environment).
- A degree or professional qualification in Software Engineering, Communication Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is desirable, or equivalent experience.
- Proven technical knowledge in IP networking.
- Architecture knowledge in Cloud services.
- Experience in managing the sales process, including technical and commercial aspects, building proposals, responding to tenders, and project implementation.
- Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of government data management, accreditation, and assurance is a big advantage.
- Strong customer-facing approach and presentation skills. Excellent communication skills.
- A team player, self-motivated, and able to lead projects technically throughout their lifecycle.
- Background in blue light/public safety is a big advantage.
- Architecture knowledge in Cisco collaboration is a big advantage.
- Client liaison and pre-sale support (80%): In-depth knowledge of company products, technology, and value proposition.
- Understanding customer needs across emergency services and translating them into suitable solutions.
- Handling RFIs and RFPs.
- Preparing and delivering technical presentations.
- Identifying new business opportunities.
- Collaborating with technical teams to translate business needs into solutions.
- Supporting pilots and product demos.
- Developing training materials and onboarding tools.
- Providing training and mentoring for partners.
- Training users on new products and features.
- Attending relevant public safety and government technology events.
- Business Processes (20%): Supporting the UK VP in building company best practices.
