About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Finance Operations to build and lead the operational backbone of a global finance function. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role for a strong finance operator who can design reliable systems, introduce process discipline, and ensure consistent, high‑quality finance operations across multiple regions and time zones. This role is centered on operational excellence rather than financial strategy. You will take ownership of the day‑to‑day and month‑to‑month finance processes, connecting global teams and translating strategic priorities into structured, repeatable workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Finance Operating Rhythm
- Act as the operational engine ensuring finance processes run smoothly and on schedule.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the global finance operating calendar.
- Establish and enforce weekly, monthly, and quarterly finance cadences.
- Coordinate execution across core finance functions (AP, AR, GL, payroll, treasury, reporting).
- Own end‑to‑end month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
- Manage task tracking, dependencies, and deadlines across distributed teams.
- Ensure seamless collaboration between US and international finance teams.
- Provide visibility into workloads, priorities, and potential bottlenecks.
- Establish clear ownership and escalation paths across all finance operations.
- Build Structure, Standards, and Governance
- Introduce structure and rigor into finance operations and processes.
- Lead operational aspects of finance transformation initiatives.
- Oversee governance and program management for ERP implementations (including NetSuite).
- Develop clear project plans, milestones, and tracking frameworks.
- Define and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all core processes.
- Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives and drive adoption of process improvements.
- Build scalable frameworks for reporting and data management.
- Ensure system and tooling improvements translate into stable day‑to‑day operations.
- Drive Operational Performance
- Establish transparency and metrics to measure operational effectiveness.
- Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs across finance processes.
- Analyze cycle times and identify inefficiencies or delays.
- Build practical dashboards to track finance performance and execution health.
- Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to link operational improvements to business outcomes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through data and structured feedback.
- Provide regular, clear updates to senior leadership on operational performance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in finance operations, controllership, or accounting operations.
- Proven experience managing complex, multi‑entity close processes across time zones.
- Strong exposure to multi‑country finance environments and cross‑border operations.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to build and improve finance processes and operational discipline.
- Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with a strong execution mindset.
- Ability to simplify complex workflows into scalable and structured systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
- Data‑driven approach with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Fluent English — required.
