Location: Central Manchester (2–3 days on-site)

Contract: Initial 6-month contract (high likelihood of extension)

Rate: Up to £400 per day (Outside IR35)

Start Date: Within the next 4 weeks

We are building a small, high-performing infrastructure team of three engineers. This is a collaborative environment where responsibilities are shared, ideas are valued, and everyone plays a key role in maintaining a secure, resilient, and high-performing network estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support across a broad range of network technologies within an enterprise environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues (circa 30% of the role), including: SD-WAN, VLANs, and VPNs
  • Cisco Meraki and Palo Alto technologies
  • Azure Virtual Networks
  • Advanced fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Manage and maintain firewall configurations, including implementing changes and utilising advanced feature sets
  • Ensure mission-critical systems remain stable, secure, and highly available
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to change control processes
  • Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years’ hands-on experience in network engineering/support roles
  • Proven experience operating in enterprise-scale environments
  • Strong expertise across core networking technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies (essential)
  • Experience with cloud-integrated networks (Azure preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach
