Chroma Recruitment is working with an established organisation in Greater Manchester that is looking to appoint a Head of IT to lead its technology function and help shape the next stage of its IT strategy.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day IT operation alongside longer-term technology planning. You’ll lead the internal IT team, take ownership of infrastructure, systems and security, and work closely with the wider leadership team to ensure technology continues to support the needs of the business.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading and developing the internal IT function and providing clear technical leadership
Defining and delivering the organisation’s IT strategy and technology roadmap
Taking ownership of IT infrastructure, business systems, networks and cloud environments
Ensuring strong cyber security, governance, backup and disaster recovery processes are in place
Managing IT budgets, suppliers, licensing and third-party technology partners
Overseeing infrastructure and systems projects from planning through to delivery
Reviewing existing technology and identifying opportunities to improve performance, resilience and efficiency
Establishing effective IT policies, processes and service standards
Working closely with senior stakeholders to understand business priorities and translate these into technology solutions
Supporting and developing the IT team while remaining comfortable getting involved technically when required
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience in an service desk manager, IT Manager, Head of IT, IT Director or similar senior technology leadership role
Strong experience across IT infrastructure, cloud environments and business-critical systems
Good understanding of cyber security, IT governance, risk and disaster recovery
Experience managing and developing technical teams
Strong supplier, vendor and budget management experience
A track record of delivering IT projects and technology change
The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
A pragmatic, commercially minded approach with the ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day delivery
What’s on offer:
Salary of £60,000 - £75,000 , depending on experience
Opportunity to take ownership of the IT function and influence technology strategy
Senior role with direct exposure to the wider leadership team
Scope to develop the IT environment, team and roadmap as the organisation continues to grow
