A well-established manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager on a fixed-term basis to support the successful delivery of a key project within their operation.

This role will take responsibility for leading production activities across the manufacturing unit, ensuring productivity, quality, safety and delivery targets are consistently achieved.

Working closely with Engineering, Quality and HSEQ teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement and best practice across production.

Responsibilities

  • Control production resources to maximise productivity and material utilisation in line with production schedules
  • Lead and manage production personnel to optimise individual and team performance
  • Ensure strict compliance with SOPs, health & safety procedures and quality standards
  • Ensure materials, equipment, consumables and services are available to meet production demands
  • Work closely with internal departments including HSEQ, Quality and Engineering to minimise delays
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all production areas
  • Support improvements in productivity, quality and manufacturing processes
  • Provide direction, coaching and training to production employees
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage employee performance where required
  • Ensure products are manufactured to customer specifications and quality expectations
  • Ensure production operations are adequately resourced to meet workload forecasts
  • Lead change initiatives and promote operational best practice

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager position
  • Strong background within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience leading teams within a fast-paced production setting
  • Good understanding of HSEQ and quality standards
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to drive performance and continuous improvement initiatives
