Data Platform Engineer (Contract) Azure / Databricks
Location: Manchester city centre
Working pattern: Minimum 2 days per week in office
Contract: 3 months - Outside IR35
Day rate: Competitive
We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineer to help build and support a modern Azure data platform environment, enabling scalable and secure data products across the business.
Key requirements:
- Strong hands-on Azure Databricks Platform Administration experience
- Experience working with Data Mesh / Data Product Mesh architecture
- Strong Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) experience
- Experience building reusable platform components and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Unity Catalog, governance, RBAC and platform security
- Experience improving platform reliability, scalability and developer experience
Desirable:
- Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs)
- Azure DevOps, MLflow and MLOps exposure
This role will focus on building scalable platform capabilities, enabling domain-led data products, and driving best practice across a modern data ecosystem.
