Managing Quantity Surveyor Hull Β£80,000 + 5K Car Allowance + Benefits | Permanent | Full-Time A leading engineering and industrial services organisation is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take commercial leadership of a major construction project based in Hull. This is a senior-level position responsible for the overall commercial performance of a high-value project, providing leadership across cost control, forecasting, change management, contract administration and subcontractor management. The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership, ensuring robust commercial governance while driving project profitability, contract compliance and successful commercial delivery. The Role Reporting into senior commercial leadership, you will be responsible for: Leading all day-to-day commercial activities across a major construction project Managing NEC contract administration and commercial compliance Overseeing measurement, valuation and payment application processes Managing forecasting, cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion reporting Leading Compensation Event and change management activities Driving commercial performance, profitability and cash flow management Managing subcontractor procurement, administration and final accounts Providing commercial advice to project and operational teams Identifying and mitigating commercial risks and maximising opportunities Ensuring robust commercial records and contractual substantiation are maintained Producing monthly commercial reporting and financial forecasts Mentoring and leading Quantity Surveyors and commercial team members What We're Looking For We'd be interested in speaking with candidates currently working as: Managing Quantity Surveyor Senior Quantity Surveyor Commercial Manager Lead Quantity Surveyor Senior Commercial Manager Commercial Lead Project Commercial Manager Quantity Surveying Team Lead Essential Experience Significant Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management experience within major engineering, construction or infrastructure projects Strong NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract experience Experience managing Compensation Events and contract change processes Strong measurement and valuation experience Proven cost control, forecasting and financial reporting capability Experience managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account Excellent stakeholder management and commercial negotiation skills Previous leadership, mentoring or team management experience Desirable Experience NEC4 Option B contract experience Major industrial, energy or infrastructure project experience Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar discipline RICS membership or progression towards chartership Experience using commercial and project financial systems Strong understanding of project controls, planning and commercial risk management Backgrounds of Interest Candidates from any of the following sectors are encouraged to apply: Oil & Gas Petrochemical Chemical Power Generation Energy Utilities Nuclear Renewables Industrial Services Engineering Construction Infrastructure What's on Offer?
