We're working with an established, growing MSP in South Manchester who are looking for an experienced 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer to join their close-knit engineering team.

Our client has been established for over 15 years and is in the middle of an ambitious growth journey, with a clear plan to scale significantly over the coming years. Their structured progression programme means engineers genuinely develop here, and several have gone on to senior specialist and infrastructure roles both internally and in the wider market.

You'll be the escalation point above 1st Line, owning tickets across a varied SME customer base: Windows desktop and Server, Active Directory and Group Policy, M365 administration, networking, and small project work. You'll also mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal documentation.

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years in IT support, ideally within an MSP
  • Solid 1st/2nd Line experience with genuine escalation depth
  • Strong Windows 10/11, Windows Server, AD and Group Policy
  • Hands-on M365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewall basics
  • Reliable transport (the office isn't well-served by public transport)

Nice to have:

  • PSA / RMM tooling exposure
  • Microsoft associate or CompTIA certifications.
