An established and highly respected global space and advanced technology organisation is expanding its UK footprint and is looking for a Buyer to join its growing procurement team. This organisation works at the forefront of space exploration, satellite systems, robotics, and geointelligence, supporting major European and international space missions. With decades of heritage and a strong pipeline of future programmes, this is a chance to play a key role in shaping next-generation space capability.
As Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle across multiple projects and customers, working closely with engineering, project teams, and suppliers worldwide. You will be a key point of contact for procured items, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Buyer Requirements:- Previous experience in procurement/buying within space or high-reliability engineering
- End-to-end procurement experience (RFI/RFP, negotiation, PO placement, delivery)
- Experience procuring mechanical and electronic components
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Able to manage multiple projects and suppliers in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- ERP/MRP system experience
- Knowledge of space/defence standards, export control, and quality systems (desirable)
