Overview

Are you a technically skilled, hands-on engineer ready to work at the heart of live international events? We\’re looking for a motivated and adaptable Track Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team, delivering precision technology in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment. You\’ll be part of a close-knit engineering team responsible for the setup, deployment, and operation of advanced data acquisition systems at elite-level motorsport events held across the globe. This is a rare opportunity to work in a live, high-stakes broadcast environment where precision and reliability are everything.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain timing loops, beacons, and temperature sensors in track surfaces
  • Commission and support department hardware/software systems at events
  • Troubleshoot electronic, network, and data systems in live environments
  • Install, test, and terminate coaxial and multi-core data cables
  • Support and occasionally lead operational activities on-site
  • Maintain detailed fault logs, reports, and equipment manifests
  • Assist with system planning and liaise with clients and stakeholders
  • Travel globally, working outdoors in various climates

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of electrical/electronic systems, including CAN protocols
  • Experience with wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and report writing
  • Familiarity with PC/network equipment, TCP/IP, and RF-based systems
  • Hands-on skills: soldering, loom building, cable termination, basic mechanical work
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management abilities
  • Comfortable performing under pressure in time-critical broadcast environments
  • A UK driving license and ability to travel extensively (1-3 weeks at a time), HND or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Knowledge of motorsport telemetry, RF fundamentals, or live data systems
  • Experience working in live sports, events, or field engineering roles
