We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Outside Broadcast Transmission Engineer to join a successful and growing provider of live transmission services to the television industry who are currently expanding their team. As an Outside Broadcast Engineer, you will join a team who are responsible for the build, support, maintenance and on-site monitoring of customer solutions for live broadcasts. Prior to the event you will pre-build and test equipment and systems in the London HQ, creating and interpreting technical drawings based on customer requirements. For the event you will you will be responsible for the rigging of cabling and broadcast systems on site, performing testing prior to transmission. During transmission you will monitor the equipment troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise working directly with customers on-site. Applicants will need to be experienced in broadcast engineering ideally with exposure to sports events. A good technical understanding IP networking and optical fibre distribution is important and is experience of video encoding/decoding (J2K, H264, H.265) and excellent troubleshooting and fault finding skills. You should be comfortable working in pressurised environments and adept and finding quick solutions to issues as they arise during a live broadcast. Any previous experience working in an outside broadcast environment would be highly beneficial as would experience of Netinsight Nimbra. Due to the nature of this role applicants must be willing to do a high degree of international travel and have a full driving license.
