We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Broadcast Project and Support Engineer to join a leading broadcast technology company on a permanent basis. You’ll split your time between project delivery where you will be installing, configuring and commissioning new deployments and support where you will be investigating live customer systems, diagnosing issues, implementing changes and coordinating software fixes with the development team. The company offers fully remote working so candidates can be based anywhere in the UK.
What you’ll do:
- Install, configure, test and commission software solutions across multiple concurrent projects.
- Prepare test materials (video, audio, subtitles, graphics) and deliver focused end-user training.
- Document accepted customer configurations and manage upgrades, rollbacks and hotfix deployments methodically.
- Troubleshoot - capture logs, replicate issues, create high-quality JIRA tickets, validate fixes and close the loop with customers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management and Development; suggest correct/expected behaviours and test code prior to release.
- Support database config, backup/restore, and querying (T-SQL / Microsoft SQL Server).
- Occasional International travel - Although remote configuration is used, there are certain projects where you will be required to travel to the clients' sites.
What you’ll bring:
- Background in broadcast / media technology working with broadcast software based systems.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019, IT networking, information security, monitoring/performance tools, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Beneficial knowledge includes - XML, SQL (T-SQL), Microsoft SQL Server, TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, RS232/RS422, Windows Registry, RAID; Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence).
- Additionally, knowledge of SMPTE ST 2022/2110, NMOS standards and/or C++ fundamentals would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication - fluent English (additional languages a plus).
