Christs Hospital School is situated in 1,200 acres of Sussex countryside, with an extensive and diverse range of buildings and facilities. Our Building Maintenance Department manages both the school and residential buildings, most dating back to the early 1900s.

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Manager, you will be City & Guilds A&B/1&2 (or later equivalent) and IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified in all aspects of electrical work and willing to complete subsequent relevant training/re-training. Applicants should have experience gained on both domestic and large commercial installations, preferably in a School, University, FE College or NHS environment.

The position requires you to work alone using your initiative to complete works to programme, although you should be comfortable working alongside other tradespersons as the need arises. A key part of the role is to successfully identify the appropriate response to a maintenance request and deliver that response professionally and sympathetically in accordance with the school's needs. You will ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with relevant statutes, current technical standards and best practice.

The position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary is from £35,000.
