Reporting to the Master and accountable to the Council and the Governing Body of the College, the Bursar is the senior administrative and financial officer of the College.
The Bursar plays a central role, alongside the Master and other College Officers, in the leadership of a diverse College community consisting of students, Fellows, affiliates, and staff.
The Bursar is responsible for helping to develop and execute College strategies in support of the College’s core mission, as set out in the 1506 Statute: ‘the promotion of education, research, teaching and religion’ (often now translated more broadly as ‘civic responsibility’).
The post offers a range of governance, management, operational and financial responsibilities within the stimulating environment of a self‑governing College with over 500 years of intellectual tradition.
Ideal candidates will have senior‑level experience managing people and money, a proven track‑record of strategic planning, and strong project‑management skills.
The successful applicant will be elected to a Fellowship of the College.
The stipend is £108,153 per annum, which corresponds to spine point 77 on the University’s single salary spine point chart.
The chart is reviewed annually on 1 August.
