Responsibilities (Work Tasks)
- Leads the Office of the Registrar and its staff; collaborates with chairs, deans, advisors, admission team, student success team, comptroller, and student affairs staff to provide exemplary student services.
- Leads strategic efforts to enroll, retain, and graduate the student body.
- Ensures policies and practices comply with federal, state, and agency regulations.
- Analyzes and uses student and enrollment data to meet immediate and long-range objectives.
- Works with cross-divisional constituents to prioritize retention and completion strategies.
- Provides leadership for staff and develops annual planning goals aligned with unit and institutional plans.
- Oversees Veterans Affairs Educational Benefits Program and School Certifying Official (SCO).
- Oversees domicile review and decision-making of special populations.
- Stays current on registrar and enrollment management practices in higher education.
- Builds and sustains a flexible, responsive, innovative, analytical, results-oriented, student-centered team.
- Supports and/or serves on committees and councils at institutional, regional, and state levels.
- Collaborates with faculty, business office, educational foundation, admission, and deans on course offerings, registration, and student completion; provides timely guidance.
- Oversees enrollment-related initiatives and data reporting, confidentiality, and degree analysis.
- Maintains academic calendar, advising dates, and registration-related dates.
- Contributes to an environment that supports student success through collaboration and problem resolution.
- Compliance and Assessment โ Oversees reporting with the National Student Clearinghouse; ensures compliance with federal and state regulations; prepares for audits and reconciles unit data; serves as FERPA Officer.
- Presentations and Training โ Represents the University at internal/external meetings and ensures FERPA compliance through training and access control.
- Other Duties as Assigned โ Supports special projects and other duties as assigned; designated as a responsible employee for reporting sexual violence and related duties.
Qualifications
- Required Education โ Masterโs degree or a Bachelorโs degree with experience that equates to an advanced degree; Graduate degree in Higher Education, Leadership, or Policy/Planning is considered.
- Experience Required โ Demonstrated experience with SQL+, SQL Developer or Toad; experience with ERP implementation and data-driven decision making; experience with imaging or document management systems; experience with Ellucian Banner or comparable system; proficient in Microsoft Office; SPSS or similar analytical tools; experience handling detailed data and confidential academic records; supervisory experience; experience working with senior leadership and implementing directives; substantial experience analyzing and presenting complex data; policy development experience; public speaking experience; familiarity with federal/state financial aid programs.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Ellucian Banner, SQL, Oracle, Perceptive, and CRMs like SLATE; creating and editing queries in SQL+ and Toad; extensive public speaking.
Salary and Organization
- Salary Information โ Starting at $102,350, commensurate with education and experience.
