The Role
This is a pivotal hire for the business. As Senior People Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to shape and deliver the People strategy, building the structures, culture, and processes needed to support a high-growth environment. You’ll operate both strategically and hands-on, ensuring the business is set up to attract, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- People Strategy & Culture
- Partner with senior leadership to define and embed People strategy
- Translate strategy into scalable processes and ways of working
- Strengthen company culture, values, and team alignment
- Lead and develop the People team
- Own and evolve the performance management framework
- Support managers to drive high-quality performance and development conversations
- Identify capability gaps, succession needs, and performance risks
- Embed a culture of accountability, growth, and psychological safety
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across the business
- Oversee onboarding, development, progression, and exit processes
- Partner on headcount planning and organisational design
- Drive retention through strong engagement and development initiatives
- Own policies, processes, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and best practice
- Manage employee relations with professionalism and care
- Oversee payroll, benefits, and HR systems
- Design and deliver training and development initiatives
- Build leadership and management capability across the business
- Develop clear progression frameworks and career pathways
- Oversee the studio and workplace environment
- Deliver engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience
- Support employer branding and positioning as a great place to work
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years’ experience in HR / People roles
- Experience in high-growth, retail, eCommerce, or DTC environments
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Proven experience building or scaling People functions
- Confident operating at both strategic and operational levels
- Strong stakeholder management and coaching capability
- High emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills
- CIPD Level 6 (or equivalent experience) preferred
