Financial Accountant in London

Our client is a fast scaling Ecommerce fashion brand. Operating from one global eCommerce store, the brand already generates a balanced sales mix across the UK, US and international markets, highlighting significant headroom for future international expansion.

As the financial accountant, you\’ll play a key role in supporting the financial operations , working closely with the Financial Controller to deliver accurate financial reporting, compliance, and analysis. You\’ll bring solid accounting knowledge (including VAT, management accounts, and audits) and can adapt to handling diverse tasks such as ecommerce transactions, inventory accounting, and inter-company reconciliations.

THE ROLE:

Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment and collections

Ensure that all transactions (sales, expenses, purchases) are correctly recorded in the accounting system

Help manage and track ecommerce sales transactions, returns, and refunds in collaboration with the operations team

Prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including posting journal entries, recording all financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records in the general ledger

Prepare weekly payment run, reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and payment gateway accounts (e.g., PayPal, Stripe) regularly

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports

Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and work closely with auditors

Reconcile intercompany transactions and resolve discrepancies

Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and in accordance with company policies

Support with stock valuation and inventory accounting in line with the business requirements

A GOOD FIT LOOKS LIKE

Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong desire to complete your qualification

Previous experience in a finance role, ideally within an ecommerce or retail business

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Excel or Google Sheets
