We’re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Reading that are looking to bring in an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead their payroll function. The Role:
- You’ll take ownership of the payroll function, overseeing a varied client portfolio while supporting and developing junior team members.
- Managing multiple weekly/monthly payrolls from start to finish
- Reviewing payroll work and ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Acting as the main point of contact for client queries
- Submitting RTI reports (FPS/EPS) and year‑end processes
- Managing pension submissions and auto‑enrolment
- Supporting and mentoring junior payroll staff
- Liaising with HMRC and resolving queries
What we’re looking for:
- Strong payroll experience within an accountancy practice or bureau
- Confident managing multiple clients and deadlines
- Knowledge of payroll systems (IRIS, BrightPay, Sage etc.)
- Organised, detail‑focused, and a strong communicator
