React Native Engineer

React Native Developer – London – Hybrid Working – £90,000-£100,000 p/a – React Native, TypeScript, Some knowledge of Objective-C/Swift/Java/Kotlin

Christopher Ali are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious data company who are on the lookout for a Senior React Native Developer to join their team.

The role will require 1 day per week working on-site in London.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience (apps in the app store) building beautiful React Native applications.
• Proven experience working from professional designs (Figma, etc) & building out custom components.
• Experience working with REST APIs that require authentication
• Experience working with app state management
• A deep understanding & appreciation of UX. User feedback such as spinners & meaningful error messages should be an implicit requirement in everything

Role day-to-day:

• The company have got an ambitious roadmap that includes effectively a multi-stage full rebuild of the react native app to shed technical debt and allow them to greatly improve functionality for users. You\’ll be working with stakeholders, designers & backend developers to plan & be part of delivering multi-discipline projects.
• As the sole react native engineer you\’ll have full responsibility of the codebase, so they\’ll want you to be comfortable with architectural decisions & managing your own time. You\’ll have the freedom to decide the strategy for approaching these decisions & creating an app that is maintainable in the long term.
• UI goes from ideation within the tech team, to wireframes you\’ll have a part in building, to a designer who will produce designs in Figma. It\’ll be your responsibility to implement true to design and work with the designer to fine-tune interactions, animations and other moments of delight for our users.
• You\’ll be expected to regularly liaise with the other engineers in the business of different disciplines to help decide the best approach to multi-discipline technical projects.
• There will of course be smaller pieces of work such as tweaks and bug fixes that go along with the maintenance & upkeep of an app used by many.
