Christopher Ali have partnered up with an innovative UK based SaaS start- up who are at a watershed in its growth and require a Head of Product.
This is a critical role – as a SaaS company products are core who they are and what they do. Your primary responsibility will be taking ownership of the product roadmap for SaaS products, as well as bespoke development for projects/clients.
There is opportunity to grow the product team as the company grows rapidly, kicked off by new investment, but also the potential to grow into a more senior role in the company, such as CPO.
Skills :
- 5+ years senior experience in B2B SaaS and bespoke development environments, with a preference on SaaS.
- Deep understanding of Product processes and frameworks, and the ability to apply those frameworks flexibly depending on the unique company needs.
- Significant experience leading and delivering product roadmaps at similar sized organisations.
- Experience liaising with clients to understand their needs and account management related to the delivery.
- Has worked across the entire product lifecycle, with a track record of building and incrementally improving successful platforms.
- Experience in managing and up-skilling a growing team of product & UX team members.
- Ability to understand our target markets and perform market research to better understand the product opportunities and competitor landscape.
Responsibilities :
(Product Strategy)
- Collaborate on refining the Product vision with the CEO, and ensure this is communicated clearly across the business, driving alignment and innovation.
- Define and own the Product Strategy across mid and long-term.
- Work closely with the CTO to determine the best end-to-end product process from the point of requirements gathering from all stakeholder types, through delivery, product/feature launch, support, impact review and continuous improvement.
- Identify possible expansion opportunities in current markets.
- Explore new addressable markets to expand into and co-create growth strategies with Sales.
(Product Operations and Delivery)
- Ensure that the right people and processes are in place to execute on the Product strategy and vision, including proposals on the hiring plan as the company continues to grow quickly.
- Work closely with the CTO to ensure responsible and sustainable scaling of Product Development teams.
- Work closely with the UX team to ensure the seamless flow from sales/marketing engagement through to full use of SaaS products.
- Coaching team members on Agile development processes (scrumban), and skill up team members to ensure a degree of autonomy can be developed at the team level as the company scales.
- Foster a data-driven approach to growth, through key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, to ensure we deeply understand customer problems throughout the team.
- Participate in large project proposals & pitching, including tender responses.
- Manage relationships and product requirements with major clients, including bespoke development projects for key accounts.
(Relationships and Communication)
- Directly line manage Product & delivery team members, including the UX team.
- Be on hand for high level customer discussions, both during pre-sales and active development.
- Be actively involved in strategically crucial projects to ensure delivery against requirements.
- Foster active communication across all teams in the business, and maintain an “open door” policy for questions, concerns and new ideas
- Regularly attend industry events, and represent the business through attendance at conferences and public speaking engagements.
