Who We Are
DZD and Christmas Direct are our two principal brands, each with its own identity and customers, both specialising in the supply of high-quality Christmas products to both businesses and consumers. DZD has been a pillar of the professional display community for nearly 40 years. Today, our focus is firmly on festive display, supplying not just the products, but also ideas, inspiration, practical know-how and support to a wide range of business customers from TV and film studios to luxury hotels. Christmas Direct has been selling lights, garlands and decorations online direct to the public and businesses since 1998. Our customers know that we are a reliable, customer-friendly business with a great inventory of high-quality festive products, and a particular strength in commercial grade outdoor lighting of all sorts. Together, these two brands cover Christmas.
We are seeking a Digital Content Creator who can effectively bring both brands to life, combining a creative approach with a clear sense of authenticity and an engaging style. Founded in 1998, our business became employee-owned in 2024. This structure places our people at the heart of everything we do and offers you the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the company’s future direction.
The Role
This is a hands-on content creation role where you'll be pivotal to the visual and written voice of both DZD and Christmas Direct. You'll plan, produce, and publish everything—from social media content to email campaigns, website content, blogs, case studies, and how-to guides. You will be expected to develop a good understanding of our brands, products, and customers, and translate this insight into content that is clear and engaging. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail. You have the ability to work individually or as part of a wider team. You work well in a fast-paced environment and can prioritise tasks effectively. You’re happy to muck in anywhere in the business to get the job done.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing creative, dynamic and informative digital content that engages with our target audiences.
- Continuously develop our online presence, engagement and reach.
- Planning and delivering all digital content including looking after the day-to-day running of the social media channels including Instagram, LinkedIn & Facebook.
- Create original, high-quality content: short-form video, informal photography, product demos, and customer stories.
- Write clear, compelling copy for our websites and email campaigns in line with our brand guidelines. This includes product descriptions, blog posts, and case studies.
- Work closely with the sales and purchasing team to understand the products and translate them into accessible, inspiring content.
- Track performance using analytics across social and email, reporting on growth, engagement, and conversions, and adapting content based on what works.
About You
- Ability and know-how are more important to us than formal qualifications, but some experience in digital marketing and/or content creation in a B2B environment would be advantageous, as would a relevant degree or marketing qualification.
- Familiarity with WordPress is desirable.
- A proven ability to build and engage social audiences through video, photography and written content.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other Adobe software is desirable, along with experience in using tools such as Lightroom, social scheduling platforms etc.
- Happy using Google Analytics.
- Photography experience is beneficial.
- Experience working with influencers.
- Ability to manage a content calendar independently, meet deadlines, and maintain clear, consistent brand identities.
- A self-sufficient, inquisitive approach with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and development.
