Why This Role Matters

This role sits within our Digital Design team, under the Global Digital and Product group, and is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover). The User Experience Manager will act as our UX Strategist for the duration of this 12-month maternity cover, playing a central role in shaping and delivering the UX vision across our global digital products, ensuring every journey is on brand, coherent, intuitive and user-centred. The role combines strategic, global leadership with hands-on contribution, partnering with product teams and designers to define a UX strategy that aligns user insights with business objectives. With expertise in translating customer understanding into actionable roadmaps, the User Experience Manager is responsible for driving organisational alignment around the client, building buy-in across Agile teams, and connecting UX strategy to measurable business results. The role also leverages AI tools where appropriate to accelerate user research, adoption of synthetic personas and strategic decision-making.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Support the Head of Digital Design to define and evolve our journey-focused, data-led and AI-enabled approach to Digital Design.
  • Align user insights with business objectives to shape the direction of our digital products.
  • Put strategic ideas into action in collaboration with Product Designers, Product Owners and stakeholders.
  • Collate and analyse data from multiple sources; behavioural analytics, user research, A/B testing and qualitative feedback, to identify strategic opportunities and recommend user experience improvements.
  • Partner with product teams and senior stakeholders to build buy-in for UX strategy across Agile development teams, breaking down silos and orienting the organisation around its customers.
  • Influence cross-functional partners to remove roadblocks, improve the effectiveness of UX teams, and embed user-centred design principles organisation-wide.
  • Mentor, coach and support designers and wider product team members on UX strategy, raising the strategic capability of the function.
  • Contribute to design reviews, workshops and ideation sessions, ensuring strategic intent is reflected in day-to-day delivery.
  • Measure, promote and communicate the success of the UX strategy, connecting outcomes clearly to business results.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proven experience defining and delivering UX strategy within a digital or product environment, ideally at global scale.
  • Strong ability to align user insights with business objectives and translate them into a clear, actionable UX roadmap.
  • Demonstrated success synthesising customer data from multiple sources to identify strategic opportunities and influence product direction.
  • Confident communicator and influencer, able to build buy-in across Agile teams, break down organisational silos and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching designers or wider product teams on strategic UX thinking.
  • Analytical mindset, using data, user feedback and testing to measure the impact of UX strategy and connect it to business outcomes.
  • Collaborative approach, able to work closely with designers, product managers and leadership to drive cultural change around user-centred design.
