Why This Role Matters The HR Business Partner will provide primary HR generalist support to the business, including the alignment of critical business objectives and people strategies. This person will develop and maintain a strong understanding of the business context, including divisional objectives, culture and key commercial drivers, to provide relevant and practical HR advice. They will partner closely with the other HR Business Partners, the HR Operations team, the Recruitment team, the Compensation and Benefits team on setting team compensation and the Learning and Development team on delivering training and development programmes. How You'll Make an Impact:
- Build effective and influential partnership relationships with client groups to build morale, productivity and retention of talent.
- Mentor, coach and develop managers by proactively guiding your managers to be the strongest people leaders they can be and helping maintain the culture by coaching managers to hold their teams accountable and maintain an inclusive team culture.
- In partnership with the HR Director and business leaders, support change management activities and ensure organisational design and effectiveness are aligned to business strategy, culture, and performance goals.
- Be an ambassador for the HR Department initiatives and Christie’s, in particular on engagement initiatives and components of our responsible culture (ED&I, Wellbeing, CSR).
- Support Departments and managers on interpreting and driving appropriate change with the annual engagement survey.
- Advise, oversee and investigate on all employee relations matters as per the relevant jurisdiction.
- Manage and assist in the resolution of complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and HR policies related to day-to-day management of employees, mitigating against legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (including coaching, career growth, development, disciplinary actions).
- Analyse overall trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to establish areas of improvement and develop solutions.
- Use people and HR data insight to evaluate the impact of people initiatives, change programmes and interventions, supporting continuous improvement and effective prioritisation.
- Confidently present insights to senior stakeholders, clearly articulating implications, options and recommended actions.
- Negotiate contract terms for new promotions and transfers.
- Support leaders in identifying high potential talent and support succession planning activities for key roles.
- Identify training and development needs for departments and individuals, co-ordinating with the Learning and Development team.
- Provide guidance and input on departmental restructures, workforce planning and talent succession planning.
- Work collaboratively on projects including HR People Weeks, Wellbeing Weeks, consultant and contingent worker reviews.
- Work with recruitment team to implement recruitment processes.
- Assist with total remuneration and reward annual review recommendations and implementation.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Strong HR generalist with experience operating in a partnering model.
- Demonstrates sound judgement with the ability to coach and support leaders through people-related decisions and challenges, escalating where appropriate.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management and employment law.
- Demonstrable experience in the resolution of complex employee relation issues.
- Excellent client management and business literacy skills.
- Strong conflict management skills.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
- Proven experience managing multiple conflicting priorities.
