The Company Christie’s, the world’s largest Art Business, is an incredibly exciting and enriching place to start or continue your career. Whether you work within one of our Specialist Art Departments, or in one of our more Operational teams, we are all working together with one common goal in mind: to continue the success of this 250 year old company, steeped in history, bringing fresh ideas whilst not forgetting our shared values; Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Responsibility and Relationships. Colleagues across all departments are truly passionate about what they do and it is inspiring to work with industry leaders across our business.

Why This Role Matters

The Senior Creative Technologist is a pivotal new role within Christie’s Digital Design team, sitting at the intersection of design, technology, and hands-on build. You will lead the rapid prototyping and delivery of innovative digital experiences, building directly in React.js, deploying through GitHub, and working closely with our engineering team to debug and ship code to Christie’s website and app platforms. You will use AI-assisted tools to accelerate the prototyping process and bring hands-on experience with MCP servers to connect Figma to IDEs, enabling a faster, more fluid handoff from design to development. This is a role for someone who thinks in code as naturally as they think in design, and who is energised by building things that didn’t exist before.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Build and iterate interactive prototypes directly in React.js, using AI-assisted tools to move from concept to working code rapidly.
  • Deploy prototypes and production-ready code through GitHub, collaborating with engineers to debug, refine, and ship to Christie’s dot com and app platforms.
  • Use MCP servers to connect Figma directly to development environments, streamlining the handoff between design and engineering.
  • Partner with the Lead Product Designer and Product Designers to translate UX intent into technically precise, build-ready solutions.
  • Work with the Head of Digital Design to identify where emerging technologies including AI and generative tools can elevate Christie’s digital experiences.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical planning and solution design sessions, bridging the gap between creative vision and engineering delivery.
  • Document build processes, component structures, and deployment decisions to support knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Stay current with the evolving creative technology landscape, bringing new tools and approaches into the team’s workflow where relevant.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proven hands-on proficiency in React.js, Vite, Railway, HTML, CSS, ThreeJS, NodeJS and JavaScript, with a portfolio demonstrating interactive, code-built digital experiences.
  • Experience deploying code via GitHub and working collaboratively with engineering teams to debug and ship to live platforms.
  • Practical experience using MCP servers to connect Figma to IDEs, enabling seamless design-to-development workflows.
  • Confidence using AI-assisted prototyping and 3D tools to accelerate build speed and explore creative possibilities quickly.
  • A strong design sensibility, you understand UX principles, visual design, and brand, and can hold both the creative and technical dimensions of a problem simultaneously.
  • Experience working in Agile or sprint-based product environments, collaborating across design, product, and engineering functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and translate design intent into precise build requirements.
  • Curiosity and adaptability, you actively follow emerging technologies and are energised by experimenting with tools that push the boundaries of digital experience.
