Why This Role Matters This internship will provide day-to-day support to the following teams in the Classic Art Group: Antiquities, Sculpture, European and English Furniture, Silver, Gold Boxes, Books and Manuscripts, with the potential to develop both specialist and administrative skills.

How You'll Make an Impact Administrative Support:

  • Support the Sale Coordinator in the day-to-day running of the departments.
  • Assist the Sale Coordinator with pre-sale administrative processes and due diligence.
  • Assist the Sale Coordinator with post-sale processes.
  • Assist Specialists and Sale Coordinator with catalogue preparation.
  • Collect and distribute post and ensure that all telephone calls are answered.
  • Maintain stationery and printing supplies in the departments.
  • Any other tasks required as and when they arise.

Research/Specialist Support:

  • Support Specialists with cataloguing and research, whether within Christie’s or at external libraries/museums.
  • Assist in warehouse and archives when required.
  • Upkeep of departmental libraries and offices.
  • Aid catalogue distribution and binding.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining sale views.
  • Assist in taking condition images as requested by clients.
  • Any other tasks required as and when they arise.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Self-motivated and highly-organised.
  • History of Art, Economics or Social Sciences Graduate (or other relevant degree/industry experience).
  • Previous work experience – either paid or voluntary – within the Art Sector preferred but not essential.
  • Language skills (fluent in English plus other European or Middle Eastern languages are advantageous).
  • Ability to demonstrate client-facing experience.
  • Strong IT skills with familiarity of all Microsoft packages.
