Why This Role Matters
You will be responsible for assisting in the Christie Manson & Woods Ltd FCRC team to provide day-to-day accounting operations support for the business, along with the timely and accurate closing of the monthly results for London, Amsterdam, Dubai and regional entities. You will be a strong team player, highly motivated and will provide a high level of customer service. You will be technically strong and perceptive, using your analytical skills to detect anomalies and flag anything suspicious to management on an ongoing basis.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Posting and sense checking all types of currency treasury journals on a daily / weekly / monthly basis, as advised by Group Treasury and Group Finance.
- Maintaining sterling and foreign bank account reconciliations, either manually or through automated process.
- Managing a portfolio of companies for daily accountancy, conducting month end reconciliations, and performing reviews, including investigating and resolving outstanding balances.
- Addressing bank account queries as a primary point of contact.
- Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts including but not limited to the FX reconciliations for Loans and Foreign Currency Bank accounts.
- The preparation of various intercompany current and loan accounts to include working with the associated contact to ensure that the balances are agreed between sites, invoices raised and ensuring that all relevant costs and any revaluation is recorded correctly.
- Supporting the month end process by posting journals, resolving queries raised by the business and by the Finance Business Partners, and ensuring the month end process runs smoothly and to the set deadlines.
- Ad-hoc projects.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
Quarterly Activities
- Arrange and agree Interco Loan Interest.
- Assist in the preparation of the AA Packs.
Annual Activities
- Communication with auditors (where applicable) for the portfolio of companies at year end.
- Supporting the team during Half Year and Full Year UK reporting requirements.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Knowledge of basic accounting required, AAT level 3 and above.
- Experience of managing a portfolio of companies an advantage.
- Experience of statutory accounts an advantage.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Willingness to understand what other teams do and learn how processes affect other teams/departments.
- Comfortable interacting with stakeholders in multiple overseas jurisdictions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and strong compliance attitude.
- Knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Proficient in Excel - JDE and Integrity knowledge is desirable.
