Job Purpose
The Regional Operations Director ensures that standards, processes and workflows are maintained, displays leadership, and offers training and coverage.
Responsibilities
- Manages the assigned Warehouse Supervisors.
- Manages reviewing, training, recruiting, and/or terminating Warehouse Supervisors.
- Audits for Operations compliance.
- Covers warehouse operations during the Warehouse Supervisor’s absence.
- Manages operational training requirements.
1. Manages the assigned Warehouse Supervisors by:
- Reviewing results of OPX reports with Warehouse Supervisor and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Overseeing rollouts for workflow and process changes.
- Providing training to relevant Operations staff on changes and updates in workflows.
- Following up on QOS issues with Warehouse Supervisor and staff to find cause of error, take action to ensure errors are not repeated and report findings to VP.
- Reviewing DWA weekly to ensure it is up to date and that the shops are processing inbound and outbound on time.
- Scheduling and ensuring staff performance evaluations occur regularly.
2. Manages reviewing, training, recruiting, and/or terminating Warehouse Supervisors by:
- Sourcing eligible Warehouse Supervisors both inside and outside of the company.
- Assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with the annual staff reviews.
- Terminating staff who do not meet the requirements of their job.
- Training new Warehouse Supervisors.
3. Audits for Operations compliance by:
- Inspecting warehouses during periodic visits to confirm compliance with ORPL standards for cleanliness and storage.
- Evaluating shop staff prep compliance.
- Ensuring compliance with various labor and safety laws as they relate to each CL location.
- Participating in monthly health and safety meetings for each shop in their jurisdiction and uploading the notes to the SharePoint admin.
- Identifying existing and potential problems in the region’s facilities and bringing these to the attention of the VP.
4. Covers warehouse operations during the Warehouse Supervisor’s absence by:
- Managing responsibility to assume Warehouse Supervisor's duties in their absence.
- Making notes for areas of improvement while conducting their workload.
5. Manages operational training requirements by:
- Providing classroom and practical forklift training sessions.
- Ensuring each warehouse has an appropriate number of properly trained and designated first aid qualified personnel to cover all shifts.
- Ensuring staff are trained in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
- Maintaining list of employee certifications and expiry dates.
- Keeping up to date with current training regulations and requirements.
