The role requires a senior surveyor either at or aspiring towards Director level to help service a burgeoning case of valuations with the opportunity to expand into lease advice and assist in major brokerage projects. We envisage a candidate with leadership qualities that would relish a challenge and embrace the opportunity to lead a team around them.

Purpose of the Role: To deliver and grow our Retail & Leisure Professional services, providing valuations and advice with a particular focus on going‐concern assets. The role will involve mentoring and influencing others, with the opportunity to build a team over time. You will be a key member of Christie & Co's wider valuation team, developing strong relationships with banks, investors, accountants, and operators through strong networking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with RICS rules, professional standards, and internal company policies
  • Lead and secure retail and leisure valuation instructions on a UK‐wide basis
  • Survey and value properties and trading businesses to determine market value
  • Prepare, present, and deliver high‐quality reports
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and manage an external network of key contacts, including operators, solicitors, accountants, and other professional advisers
  • Proactively generate new business
  • Respond promptly, professionally, and effectively to enquiries from prospective clients
  • Maintain a strong awareness of market activity, trends, and sector developments
  • Work towards and consistently achieve agreed performance and revenue targets
  • Identify opportunities to cross‐sell services across the wider Group
  • Accurately use and maintain the Christie & Co CRM system, ensuring contact, property, and project data is kept up to date

Working Relationships and Contacts: You will work alongside our market leading senior Retail & Leisure team and report to the Managing Director, whilst retaining a good level of autonomy. Our brand, company reputation and market knowledge will help you to open doors and become a trusted advisor for clients to rely upon with confidence. You will also work closely with Christie Group company colleagues to cross-sell and gain business.

Candidate Specification:

  • RICS Chartered Status (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience applying appropriate valuation methodologies (essential)
  • A methodical and thorough approach to valuation work (essential)
  • Strong experience in preparing clear, well‐structured valuation reports (essential)
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal (essential)
  • Strong IT proficiency, with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (essential)
  • A good understanding of accounts and lease structures (desirable)
  • A minimum of 1-2 years post-qualification experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the trade sector and current market trends (desirable)
  • Awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements (desirable)
