We are the leading specialist advisor for buying and selling businesses in our sectors - hotels, pubs, restaurants, childcare, healthcare, convenience retail, leisure and medical. With 90 years of experience, we offer professional brokerage and advisory services, our team has a network of 13 offices in the UK along with 12 in Europe, employing the largest hotels team in Real Estate. We pride ourselves in our high standards, providing a client centric experience and building business around our clients through tailoring our services.

Purpose of the role

The IT Delivery Manager is accountable for the end‑to‑end intake, planning, execution, and reporting of IT change initiatives, ensuring work is delivered predictably, transparently, and in alignment with business priorities. The role owns the delivery lifecycle for projects and initiatives from initial request through to completion while maintaining clear oversight of budgets, timelines, scope, risks, and resources. It will act as the primary conduit between business demand and IT delivery capability.

About the team

You will be part of a small but dedicated IT team based in either our Milton Keynes office, interacting with around 400 users mainly UK based, but with offices in France, Germany, Spain and Austria. Whilst most of our team is in house, we also utilise external suppliers to provide support particularly around our WAN provision and increasingly our Cyber Security.

Responsibilities

  • Demand Intake & Prioritisation
    • Act as the single front door for IT project and change requests
    • Shape incoming demand into clearly defined initiatives with:
      • Scope
      • Risks and assumptions
    • Support prioritisation decision‑making in line with:
      • Business value
      • Capacity constraints
      • Strategic alignment
    • Ensure requests are either:
      • Approved and scheduled
      • Deferred with rationale
      • Rejected with clear explanation
    • Own delivery accountability for all approved initiatives
    • Ensure work progresses from initiation through delivery and transition to BAU
    • Monitor and manage:
      • Milestones
      • Risks and issues
    • Manage project‑level budgets and cost tracking
    • Provide transparent forecasting and variance reporting
    • Track resource demand and utilisation across initiatives
    • Surface delivery trade‑offs clearly when capacity is constrained
    • Support financial governance and funding decisions
  • Reporting & Visibility
    • Produce clear, consistent reporting on:
      • Delivery status
      • Timelines
      • Costs vs budget
      • Key risks and issues
    • Provide senior stakeholders with a single, trusted view of delivery
    • Maintain delivery metrics that support informed decision‑making rather than activity tracking
  • Governance & Assurance
    • Apply agreed delivery governance frameworks and standards
    • Business ownership is defined
    • Delivery decisions are documented
    • Risks are explicitly accepted or mitigated
    • Support audit, compliance, and assurance activities where required
    • Close initiatives properly, ensuring learning is captured
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary delivery interface to the business
    • Set realistic expectations with stakeholders
    • Communicate delivery progress, issues, and decisions clearly and early
    • Work closely with:
      • Business owners
      • IT Service Delivery / Operations
      • Architecture and platform teams
    • Ensure smooth transitions from delivery into live service
