Our Lease Advisory team help support businesses with expert advice across , Portfolio Advisory, Landlord & Tenant and Expert Witness & Dispute Resolution.
We act on behalf of Local and International Developers, Council & Local Authorities, Private Equity, Institutional Funds, Family Offices, HWNIs and Private Owners, Regional and International Brands and Operators and Domestic and International Banks and Debt Funds. Our clients are equally divided between landlords and tenants.
Purpose of the role
Due to an increase in demand and the number of mandates, we are looking for someone with the relevant market knowledge to join and working in our lease advisory team providing support for the Director. This person would be required to support our business in the North of England, locations such as Nottingham, Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester would be a great base location focusing on the North of England patch.
The work would revolve mainly around rent reviews, lease renewals on Hospitality, Medical, Leisure, Retail and Childcare properties throughout the UK and would cover all aspects of the lease advisory process from business development, providing initial advice, rental valuations, reporting to the client, carrying out negotiations and expert reports to Third Party/Court if necessary.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be:
- Working with Landlord’s and Tenant’s for rent reviews across our specialist sectors
- Undertaking inspections and measured surveys
- Lease interpretation and analysis
- Analysis of comparable evidence
- Negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals on behalf of tenants and landlords on a variety of sectors including hospitality, leisure, retail, medical and childcare
- Negotiating and drafting heads of terms
- Representing landlords/tenants in third party disputes
Experience Required:
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:
- 1 -5 years post APC qualification experience
- Prior experience of Lease Advisory is essential, with a preference given to hospitality or medical although not essential.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
- You should also have a strong understanding of the commercial property market and the latest legislation.
- A passion for commercial property and who is committed to providing clients with the highest level of service.
- Negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting lease documentation and market data.
- Proactive, solution-focused approach, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
