Salary: FTE £33,425 to £36,462 (Pro Rata £26,740 – £29,169) dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful Christian school staff team, where staff feel supported and valued and where pupils thrive in our community. The King’s School has operated for over 40 years providing high‑quality Early Years, Primary and Secondary education. The school currently has 217 pupils. TKS is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly effective SENDCo to lead and develop inclusive SEND provision across the school. This is an opportunity for an experienced practitioner to shape high‑quality SEND support within a nurturing Christian school community, ensuring that every child and young person is known, valued, and enabled to flourish.

The Role

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across primary and secondary
  • Oversee provision in EYFS
  • Ensure early identification of needs and effective, age‑appropriate intervention
  • Support smooth transition between key stages
  • Coordinate and oversee EHCPs, SEND reviews, and provision planning
  • Support staff in delivering inclusive, high‑quality teaching
  • Work closely with parents, pupils, and external agencies
  • Advise senior leaders on SEND admissions, practice, compliance, and development

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Holds the National Award for SEND Coordination (or is willing to complete it)
  • Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Is confident working across at least two key stages
  • Communicates with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Will actively support the Christian ethos and values of the school
  • Experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential
