Are you passionate about cooking and inspiring the next generation of chefs, food enthusiasts, and confident home cooks? The King’s School is a warm and welcoming Christian school nestled in a beautiful rural setting. With small class sizes and a focus on all-round education – academic, character, and faith – this is a place where your teaching can truly make a difference.

At The King’s School we provide an environment that challenges and inspires, supported by an outstanding pastoral care team and a collaborative, passionate staff. As a teacher here, you will have the unique opportunity to encourage pupils in their journey of faith, modelling a meaningful relationship with Jesus that is real and relevant.

We’re looking for a patient, caring, and enthusiastic teacher with a love for cooking and a commitment to equipping young people with effective culinary skills. As our Teacher of Cookery, you will:

  • Deliver cookery lessons to small classes across Years 7–11, with a maximum of 11 pupils per group in Key Stage 3. There is the option to add a weekly Primary class to the timetable too.
  • Teach engaging, hands‑on lessons in our well‑equipped kitchen, where every student has their own workstation.
  • Guide GCSE students following the AQA Food Preparation & Nutrition course, typically 3–6 students per year group.
  • Work with an established scheme of work and recipes while having the freedom to shape and expand the curriculum.
  • Enjoy double‑period lessons (1 hour 40 minutes) for instruction, cooking, and cleanup.

The role is usually spread across three or four days, with flexibility on exact/days to suit your schedule. The King’s School has its own pay scale, with contributions to an employer’s pension scheme and healthcare cover available to all staff. Join us in creating a learning space that equips pupils with practical skills, fosters their creativity, and inspires their faith journey.
