About Emmaus School: Our aim is to enable children to achieve academic and vocational success, in an affordable, caring, family-oriented Christian environment, through which they also develop Godly character and understanding of a Biblical worldview. We offer small class sizes, responsive pupils, welcoming colleagues and support to deliver high quality, Biblically informed education. We teach children from Reception to Year 11, when they sit GCSEs in a wide range of subjects. We recognise the importance of family life for our staff and seek to achieve a healthy work-life balance.
Our vacancies: Due to long-standing staff members leaving to embark on new ventures (including full-time Christian ministry), we have vacancies in our Senior School Department in a number of subjects: Geography, History, English Literature/Language, Computer Science and Music at Key Stages 3&4. Teaching hours are in the region of 6 hours per week per subject, except English Lit/Lang, which is 9 hours per week and Music, which is currently one hour per week (plus PPA time). We are open to individuals covering one or more of these subjects.
We are looking for committed Christians with:
- Teaching skills and experience (QTS is not essential as training can be provided)
- An education and work background relevant to teaching the above subjects at KS3&4
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Good IT skills
- The ability to work autonomously and be a good team-player
- An enthusiastic, trustworthy and positive disposition
- A commitment to education within a Biblical worldview.
There is potential for the appointed teacher(s) in certain subjects to undertake additional teaching at our partner school, Maranatha Christian School (Swindon), should further hours be required, subject to appropriate agreement and practical arrangements between the schools. We are currently accepting applications and we require individuals to be in post to start September 2025. Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
