Post Secondary History teacher for classes in our Middle and Upper Schools, Years 8 to 11.

Hours: The role is for one and a half days per week, with the possibility of combining the role with other responsibilities for the right candidate.

Role: This is an opportunity to teach motivated pupils within a school that values clarity of thought and a coherent understanding of the world shaped by a Christian world‑view. You will teach GCSE History following the AQA specification. Current units include: America, 1920‑1973; Conflict and Tension – the Cold War; 1945‑1972; Power and the People; Elizabethan England. At Key Stage 3, you will teach a curriculum that traces the development of societies, power, and belief over time, including: The Roman Empire, Anglo‑Saxon England, The rise of Islamic empires, the Norman Conquest and medieval England, the English Civil War and the Industrial Revolution. You will plan and deliver high‑quality lessons that develop pupils’ historical knowledge, disciplinary thinking, and ability to construct well‑evidenced arguments.

About our school: Independent Sector, 170 to 200 pupils from 4 to 16. CFS is a faith venture within a parent collaborative setting, where young people learn to consider the world and themselves in a Christ‑centred way, and the next generation are actively discipled to equip them to serve society creatively and courageously. We are looking for a teacher who:

• Has strong subject knowledge across ancient, medieval and modern history.
• Can teach with clarity, precision, and academic ambition.
• Is committed to helping pupils understand the past in a way that informs their understanding of the present.
• Is organised, reliable, and able to work effectively within a small team.
• Is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

This role would suit an experienced teacher seeking a part‑time position or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with relevant training and clear potential.
