Reports to: Technology Development and Release Manager

Website Maintenance & Security

  • Maintain and update the CAP website, its CMS (Craft CMS) and links to connected systems.
  • Identify and implement security updates, monitoring and responding to uptime and potential security issues.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical bugs.
  • Provide support for website and CMS queries.

Website Design & Development

  • Develop and translate Figma designs into high-quality, reusable code.
  • Build and maintain a consistent design system to ensure UI uniformity.
  • Ensure all features meet WCAG standards and that our website is inclusive and accessible for all users.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across the charity to ensure consistency and alignment between the website and all connected systems.

Website Optimisation & Testing

  • Rigorously and collaboratively test new functionality before it is launched to the live website.
  • Design and run A/B tests to inform the development of new website functionality.
  • Implement the outcome of successful tests as part of the website development roadmap.

Website Tagging & Tracking

  • Build and maintain data integration between the website and other platforms (Salesforce, GA4, Google Ads, Meta).
  • Implement precise tracking for user interactions (e.g. clicks, form completions, and video engagement).
  • Utilise Consent Management Platform (Cookiebot) to ensure all tracking strictly adheres to privacy requirements and prevents the leakage of sensitive user data.
  • Optimise tag loading to protect Core Web Vitals and conduct technical audits to verify that analytics data is accurate and firing correctly across all browsers.

Measurable outputs

  • Timely development and delivery of new website functionality in line with the website development roadmap.
  • Minimal downtime due to bugs on releases.
  • Regular audits of website health and security, with security best practices promptly implemented.
  • Website testing plan built and maintained, with timely implementation of test outcomes.
  • Regular updates of website CMS.

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years experience of writing in HTML, Javascript and CSS.
  • Minimum 3 years experience designing and maintaining websites.
  • Experience in UI/UX design and development.
  • Experience of website optimisation, using tools such as A/B testing to build and execute experiments.
  • Experience of using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience of working with and developing website CMS (e.g. Craft CMS).

Desirable

  • Experience designing and maintaining large complex websites.
  • Experience of technical SEO.
  • Experience working with Craft CMS.
  • Experience working with Figma.
  • Experience working with Salesforce marketing solutions.
