ChristianaCare’s Integrated Behavioral Health Department is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail‑oriented Behavioral Health Therapist II who demonstrates strong clinical expertise, trauma‑informed care, and the ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships with a diverse patient population. This role involves clinical assessment, psychotherapy, and collaboration within an integrated primary care setting at the Aston Primary Care location in Pennsylvania. The therapist will function as a member of the clinical team, providing consultation, assessment, treatment, and behavioral health education. The position encompasses a combination of consultation and psychotherapy responsibilities. The ideal candidate must hold active licensure in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. Candidates who are not currently licensed in both states must demonstrate the ability and willingness to obtain dual‑state licensure prior to employment.

Work Schedule

Monday‑Friday: Day Shift No weekends or holidays. This is a hybrid role with four (4) days onsite and one (1) remote day option available. Remote days are subject to change and may be adjusted on an ad hoc basis to meet departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients, obtain and interpret information, and identify age and culturally specific needs to provide appropriate psychological care.
  • Function in a consultation and liaison role, meeting acute needs and providing outpatient psychotherapy as appropriate.
  • Coordinate transitions of care to community settings, maintaining knowledge of resources and community providers.
  • Provide highly skilled behavioral health consultation to the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and community partners.
  • Develop group support and therapy activities for the specific population.
  • Contribute to staff development through consultation, education, and best‑practice recommendations.
  • Maintain connection and consultation with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.
  • Complete mandatory education and maintain certification in area of specialty.
  • Maintain productivity levels and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and implement strategies enhancing patient care.
  • Plan and implement programs addressing patients’ psychosocial needs.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make modifications as needed.
  • Assess learning needs of patients and families and carry out treatment as indicated.
  • Attend and participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary rounds.
  • Respond to staff requests for guidance; provide staff education.
  • Develop and provide patient education as appropriate.
  • Provide virtual coverage for primary care sites lacking a placed BHC or with a part‑time BHC not present.
  • Respond to the BH suicide triage line to support specialty practice providers with crisis patients.
  • Attend BHC meetings weekly.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Position Qualifications

  • Master’s degree that qualifies for licensure or certification in their state.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required.
  • Delaware and Pennsylvania state licensure preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience providing direct therapeutic care preferred.

Annual Compensation Range: $68,161.60 - $109,054.40. This range reflects ChristianaCare’s good faith estimation of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on qualifications, experience, and role requirements.
