Overview
Buckingham Futures is excited to present an opportunity in Hertfordshire for an Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer. The role involves conducting inspections, re-inspections, and surveys in relation to private sector housing, with an immediate start. The position is initially for three months, with a strong likelihood of extension.
Requirements
- Recent experience in Residential Environmental Health, including Part 1 & 2 of the Housing Act 2004, and expertise in dealing with public health issues and statutory nuisance using the relevant legislation
- Ability to manage casework independently, take enforcement action, gather evidence, and prepare prosecutions when necessary
- Full competency in the use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), with the ability to prepare schedules of works for single dwellings as well as larger HMOs
- Experience managing a busy caseload and making informed decisions on appropriate actions
- Strong communication skills
