Overview
Pursuing Holiness is looking for a Worship Leader. They are seeking a spiritually mature Worship Leader to help cultivate a culture of prayer and worship within a growing Christian community. This part‑time role (approximately 10 hours per week) supports two distinct gatherings: PURSUIT, a Friday night prayer and worship gathering focused on seeking God through passionate, Spirit‑led worship and intercession, and PRESENCE, a Sunday afternoon gathering centred on stillness, reflection, creativity, and encountering God through gentle worship and community in Hornchurch.

Key Responsibilities
- Worship Leadership
- PURSUIT (Friday Nights)
- Lead worship that encourages prayer, intercession, and spiritual engagement
- Work alongside leadership to shape the flow of the evening
- Support moments of spontaneous worship and prayer
- PRESENCE (Sunday Afternoon Gathering)
- Lead gentle, reflective worship that creates space for stillness
- Help cultivate an atmosphere of rest and encounter with God
- Work alongside musicians to provide simple live worship
- Worship Team Coordination
- Coordinate singers and instrumentalists serving in worship
- Work with existing musicians providing instrumental support
- Help develop a small volunteer worship team
- Organise simple worship rotas

- Model a life of worship and prayer
- Be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit during gatherings
- Work collaboratively with leadership to support the spiritual vision
- Preparation and Planning
- Select songs that align with the flow of gatherings
- Prepare worship sets for both PURSUIT and PRESENCE
- Ensure smooth coordination with musicians and volunteers
Qualifications
- Committed Christian with a vibrant personal faith
- First and foremost a worshiper
- Capable of singing and leading worship confidently
- Ideally plays an instrument (guitar or piano preferred)
- Comfortable with Spirit‑led and spontaneous worship
- Experience coordinating or leading worship teams
- Cultural alignment with a vision of prayer‑centred worship
