Saltmine Theatre Companyis seeking amale actor of Middle Eastern heritage, playing age 30-45, for a key role in a new touring theatre production.
Theirs is the Kingdom: Stories of Courageous Faith explores stories of faith, courage,persecutionand hope, bringing together personal stories from around the world in a dynamic piece of touring theatre.
The successful actor will play a principal character while also contributing to the wider ensemble and devising process.

ROLE: MATTHEW
Male | Playing age 30-45 | Middle Eastern heritage
Matthew is a husband and father who has become deeply disillusioned with the Iranian government, yet has found a renewed sense of purpose through his Christian faith.We first meet Matthew as he is being interrogated because of his connection to the underground church.
He islogical,composedand intelligent.
The actor will also contribute to the ensemble and the development of the production through a collaborative devising process.

- Confidence and ability in physical theatre
- A collaborative approach to devising and ensemble work
- Full availability across the rehearsal and touring period
