This week applications opened for Higher Level Apprenticeships in Engineering, in partnership with the North West Regional College. This is an opportunity for students to combine study and workplace learning, gain experience, new skills, and grow their careers.
Entry Level requirements for these roles are:
- 32 UCAS points at GCE A Level with at least one pass in a related discipline, plus pass in GCSE mathematics (or equivalent) or a BTEC Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- You must be over 18 years of age by 01st September 2025.
Candidates should also be able to show self-motivation, excellent communication, experience or interest in Engineering/Maintenance. Contracts of employment will only be honoured if candidates meet the 32 UCAS points of entry level for North West Regional College.

For study and learning opportunities, the Equipment Engineering Specialist Apprenticeships are full‐time positions. Successful candidates will be part of the Seagate team with an opportunity to gain early experience in the work environment. We offer a connected and supportive environment through mentoring and project learning.
The work/learning pattern throughout the apprenticeship programme will vary with arrangements for one‐day study at the North West Regional College. Successful candidates will complete a HNC General Engineering (Level 4) and NVQ Level 2 qualifications in engineering (over 2 years). Study modules include Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Material Properties & Testing, Quality & Process Improvements, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Design and Managing a Professional Engineering Project.
For financial arrangements, the hourly rate of pay that is being offered for the apprenticeship role is £13.00 per hour / annual compensation paid is £26,364.00.
