Role Overview

As Finance Manager, you will be central to the financial management and strategic planning of Christian Action Housing. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This position is ideal for a finance professional passionate about making a difference in the Charity & Voluntary/Public Sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee External Audit & Year End Accounts – Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory financial statements in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Support the Regulatory and Contractual compliance submissions.
  • Manage Operational Treasury & Banking Activities.
  • Manage the Contracts Register.
  • Staff management of small team.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist financial strategy development.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Be a qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent).
  • Have experience of leading or assisting in year-end audits and overseeing external audit processes.
  • Have experience of working with financial systems and developing strategies.
  • Possess effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
  • Have knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Be proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
