We run essential supported living accommodation and services for young people, helping them to achieve independent living and a bright future. We have a number of Independent Living schemes for anyone aged 55+, offering peace of mind and an opportunity to remain independent and in their local community.

The Role

Our Tenancy Sustainment Officer is responsible for supporting residents to maintain their tenancies and prevent tenancy breakdown. The role focuses on early intervention, providing practical and person-centred support to tenants facing challenges such as financial hardship, mental health issues, or anti-social behaviour, ensuring long-term housing stability. A key outcome is to enable tenants to build a community of support independent of Neighbourhood Officers through advocacy and establishing sustainable actions and partnerships that embed resilience against day-to-day life challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to tenants at risk of tenancy failure, including those with complex needs.
  • Work proactively to prevent rent arrears, evictions, and homelessness.
  • Support tenants in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, maintaining their property, and managing bills.
  • Promote financial and social inclusion.
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and ensure appropriate action is taken where risks are identified.
  • Assist in managing low-level anti-social behaviour through early intervention and engagement.
  • Promote tenancy rights and responsibilities, ensuring tenants understand their obligations.
  • Encourage resident involvement with the tenants that you engage with.
  • Be an advocate for our services and residents.
  • Uphold our values working collaboratively with colleagues across the Association.
  • Demonstrate the Association's commitment to building a diverse and inclusive organisation.
  • Any other duties that may be reasonably required.
